Looking for Betty Tomlinson former WRAC at Manobier 1968 -197, I believe she went to Lulworth Cove at the closure of the camp, believe she married a tank man in the Regiment there. We are Bob and Brenda Grigg who married in 1967 at Manobier Camp and stayed till the closure when we were posted to Shoeburyness.

I noticed this posting from Mary Elizabeth Watts (nee Whatmore) dated 10th May 2014 and was wondering whether you could tell me what units were are Richmond when you were there in 1957/58.

I am looking for information for a friend of mine whose mother was a Private W/389318 Patricia Ann Stoves (nee Thomas). Her mother told her that her father was an American based at the camp. Any help would be appreciated....diane@tangles.plus.com

I am looking for information for a friend. Her mother was based she believes at the Richmond Army Barracks in Surrey in 1955-1957, could have been earlier that 1955. My friend was born February 1958. The mother told her daughter her father was American based at the camp at this time. Has anyone any knowledge who or what units were there during these years. I have found it impossible to trace via Veteran's agency, MOD, IWM and various other places., hence the reason to submit an entry to this list. My email address is diane@tangles.plus.com. Any information would be appreciated.

Message for Bob Cairns.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply! I wasn't there long enough to enjoy the pleasures of The Star. Unfortunately for me there were a lot of restraints on us young-uns:(

We had a curfew and was ruled with a rod of iron. Them were the days. My CSM was WRAC CSM Dick. Oh the fun we had, can you imagine and she was Scottish as well:0

I was only there about 6 months then onto Imphal Barracks, York. Served 10 yrs all over 76-86. Well better stop boring news, see ya and thanks again for reply!!!

Kind regards

Carol Nicholls (nee Rajman)

Message for Bob Cairns who posted a note in Feb 14 for any WRAC that served at the Army Education in Beaconsfield. Yes, I am one of them at least. I served there mid 1976 to very early 1977. My name is Carol Nicholls (nee Rajman) and contrary to the name I am white. (Chuckle) Half Hungarian. Where did you work in the Centre? If you ever see this and read this message, hope you had a good time down there!
